RIGSERV SET THE FIRST DRILLING INSTRUMENTATION
MODERNIZATION STANDARD IN 1977
Rigserv Ltd, incorporated in 1977 to cater for the new technological
requirements of North Sea Oil Development. We pioneered microprocessor
and computer applications in drilling Instrumentation, we rationalized
Drilling & Mud information and integrated them onto LED/LCD
fixed window display panels. We introduced non-contacting sensors
for reliable information gathering and ergonomically engineered
the instrumentation and control system into an integrated Driller's
Control cabin.
Rigserv initiated and set the standard during this first Drilling
Instrumentation era which ended in 1996.
RIGSERV LEADING THE WAY AGAIN FOR THE 21st CENTURY
Rigserv started another new initiative in 1997 with versatile
touchscreen display panels, SCADA software and smart sensors.
The touchscreen, multifunction menu driven technology can do a
much better job in display and control than the fixed-window display
and conventional mechanical control panels.
This is the new standard for Instrumentation & Controls for
21st century drilling rigs.
